It is considered to be one of the most beautiful valleys of India. What makes it picturesque is the dense forest scenery along with snow capped tall mountains in the background. Baspa River adds magnificently to its scenic beauty.
Baspa River rises near the Indo-Chinese border and forms the Baspa Valley (also known as the Sangla Valley) – one of the most scenic in Himalayas.
Its history dates back to ancient times when it was largely inhabited by the Kinnauri people, a community known for their rich culture and tradition. Sangla, also known as the Sangla Valley, is perched at an altitude of 2,696 meters above sea level and is cradled by the majestic Himalayan range.Overall, the climate of Sangla is quite pleasant throughout the year, although the winters tend to be a bit harsh. Summers are hot but the heat is not really scorching. The temperature during summers ranges from 8 to 30 degrees Celcius. Monsoon season in the valley brings a lesser amount of rainfall.
