Dedicated to the Indian sage Manu, this temple is the only temple on this planet that is dedicated to this sage. Thus it makes to be one of the most sacred pilgrimages for the devotees of this saint. Built with wood and stone, the temple offers exotic views of the Beas River and magnificent hills.

The temple is dedicated to the first human Manu who saved the world and rehabilitated the human race – Manu Rishi. The literature at the entrance of the temple also states that the name of Manali was initially Manu Allya (home of Manu) which is distorted to its modern version ‘Manali’.
