History. The Dalai Lama Temple, officially known as Tsuglagkhang Complex, is a repository of Tibetan culture. The temple was built in 1959, following the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s exile from Tibet. Today, it serves as the spiritual and political center of the Tibetan community in exile .
